Annie Hirshman is an illustrator, designer, and UX leader.
After graduating from Pratt Institute, I started my career designing children’s books at Penguin Random House. Then I fell in love with user experience, and designed educational technology for W. W. Norton and Company. I became interested in civic tech while organizing volunteer tech workers for grassroots groups, and now work in the federal government for Login.gov. I‘m passionate about working in government because we design for everyone – our mission is to make services beneficial and accessible to all.
I love to make things, beautiful and useful, from the web to the printed page. I sketch, paint with watercolors, and plot to solve the world's problems with user research and human-centered design.
